Hardox® 600
Hardox® 600 offers a nominal hardness of 600 HBW combined with exceptional toughness, making it unique among steels of this hardness level. Designed for extreme wear conditions, Hardox® 600 remains cuttable and weldable, making it ideal for high-performance applications. It has been successfully used in cement plants for concrete brick moulds, tables, and compactors; as liner and screed plates in material handling and mineral processing; as liners for stationary concrete mixers; and as hammers and knives in recycling and waste fragmentation.
Hardox® 600 Stockholder & Supplier
MTL Advanced Ltd is one of the largest Hardox® Weaparts Centre’s in the UK and is a Hardox® 600 stockholder/supplier to many clients around the world who require high wear resitstance.
With various industry quality accreditations and many years’ experience working with this steel, we have the capability to manufacture and supply Hardox® 600 in different sizes to satisfy the needs of our customers.
Due to our extensive in-house manufacturing capabilities and stringent quality measures, we can also machine, press parts up to 7.2m length and waterjet cut Hardox® 600 to the UK’s highest standards.

Fabrication and other recommendations
Welding, bending and machining Recommendations can be found in SSAB’s brochures on www.hardox.com or consult Tech Support, techsupport@ssab.com.
Hardox® 600 is not intended for further heat treatment. It has obtained its mechanical properties by quenching and when necessary by means of subsequent tempering. The properties of the delivery condition cannot be retained after exposure to temperatures in excess of 250ºC .
Appropriate health and safety precautions must be taken when welding, cutting, grinding or otherwise working on this product. Grinding, especially of primer coated plates, may produce dust with a high particle concentration.
What is Hardox® 600?
Hardox® 600 has a unique high impact toughness and shows a wear resistance equal to or better than chromium carbide-rich castings and hardfacing deposits.
With a nominal hardness of 600 HBW, it is especially suited for extreme wear conditions and can still be cut and welded, making it an excellent choice for high-performance applications.
