Quality Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Taking ownership of your designated contract Quality performance
  • Reviewing ISIR, PPAP & FAI Packs prior to submission
  • Being first point of contact for internal and external quality concerns
  • Investigating Non-conformances, both internal and external and implement CAPA measures
  • Reporting internal process performance data weekly (CCIR Action Log)
  • Report Quality performance data in Project specific meetings
  • Providing support as required (Absence/ Workload)
  • Conducting and leading investigations issued by the Quality Manager
  • Generating Supplier NCR forms and following up to ensure effective Preventative actions are implemented
  • Ensure effective implementation of ‘No Fault Forward’
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Experience within quality
  • Core Tools (AIAG) and RCA Qualification/ Experience
  • Knowledge / Experience within Fabrication, Welding or engineering background
  • Good eye for detail
  • Team player with respect for others
  • Highly motivated self-starter

Ideally:

  • Come from an engineering metal product back ground
  • Have experience within an aerospace working environment

Thursday 8am – 5pm & Friday 8am – 4pm   41.50 hours

Manufacturing Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Evaluating manufacturing quality control processes and making recommendations for improvements
  • Analyzing and reporting on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times,
  • Structured approach to the commissioning and handover to production of new lines, process or equipment
  • Reviewing and calculating the costs of the different process methods and equipment in the production process and predicting the overheads in future production requirements
  • Analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximize manufacturing efficiency
  • Generating process manufacturing standard work to the most effective work sequence
  • Ensuring that personal follow the proven procedures and instructions in relation to process and equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving the efficiency and quality of the production processes to produce a better product, at a lower cost and improve the profitability
  • Liaising with internal departments and customers to resolve technical queries
  • Provide technically sound engineering solutions to achieve effective results and to resolve any potential problems or issues.
  • Prepare accurate timelines for all aspect of each project
  • Involvement in tendering process
  • Involvement in design process for Design For Manufacturing (DFM)
  •  To ensure knowledge of and compliance with all Health and Safety Legislation
  • Adherence to Company Policies and Procedures
  • Promote effective communications

Project Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure projects are led and fulfilled from order to full production
  • Main point of contact for designated blue-chip customers, ensuring liaisons to manage customer requirements and expectations including variations from original order
  • Reviewing customer order requirements against quotation
  • Breaking down engineering drawings to produce a bill of materials
  • Creating 2D DXF cutting files for use in our thermal cutting processes
  • Inputting manufacturing information into our operating system to generate route cards
  • Generating process manufacturing drawings
  • Raising purchase order requisitions and expediting suppliers
  • Liaising with internal departments and customers to resolve queries and expedite progress
  • Provide technically sound engineering solutions to achieve effective results and to resolve any potential problems or issues
  • Prepare accurate timelines for all aspect of each project
  • Develop a commercial awareness of contracts handled
  • To progress the manufacture of all parts required to schedule
  • Achieve On Time in Full requirements
  • Involvement in quotation process
  • Involvement in design process
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Engineering qualification or good engineering background
  • Knowledge and experience of AutoCAD and ERP manufacturing systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively both within the company and with external blue chip customers

Production Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Following of the laser kitting process
  • Working on MRP printing programming sheets and investigating jobs to completion, taking pictures to have full traceability
  • Housekeeping – ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the Departments and Profile Compound are always maintained to a high standard to comply with Health and Safety standards
  • Maximize the uptime of the machines by delivering materials in a timely manner
  • Collect parts from various machines and do milk runs to keep the machines areas tidy, safe, and workable
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Fork Lift Truck – Counterbalance License – Side loader
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
  • Overhead crane / slinging & lifting skills
  • Experience in a similar role/environment
  • Needs to be able to read engineering drawings
  • Operate a drill or similar machinery
  • Work to a high standard

Welding Instructor

KEY OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES:
  • To deliver a level 3 plate welder standard to the apprentices
  • As a “instructor” you are responsible for ensuring all learners are fully conversant with Health and Safety & environment policy
  • You will guide and mentor apprentices in best practices
  • You will instruct and train apprentices in the use of MIG/Mag/Tag/MMA welding processes and techniques
  • You will instruct and train apprentices in fabrication techniques and the use of associated plant, machinery, and tools
  • You will monitor, assess, and record the progress of each apprentice against defined criteria, mentoring them to overcome any challenges and providing feedback to HR with regards to any ongoing concerns
  • You will ensure both written and practical assessments are undertaken with evidence compiled for each apprentice
  • You will carry out regular appraisals to discuss and resolve any issues
  • You will work with and Liaise with any 3rd part training providers
  • You will attend and represent the company at recruitment events and build strong relationships with surrounding feeder schools
  • You will be responsible for the training academy and all equipment, plant and machinery used in the academy, including its maintenance, testing and TPM activities
  • You will ensure any maintenance faults and problems are reported
  • You will oversee any process changes which occur within the department
  • You will drive a safety-first culture
  • You will drive a ‘No Fault Forward’ culture
  • You will monitor and maintain workshop standards with respect
  • You will keep unsure a good communication exists between the academy and other department team leaders/managers
  • You will assume ownership of learners, by creating and maintaining their commitment, loyalty, and motivation
  • You will encourage the Learners to meet their full potential through positive engagement
  • Where necessary and in conjunction with Human resources you will conduct counselling’s and disciplinary proceedings with Learners. Health and Safety Responsibilities of Fabrication & Welding Instructor
  • You will ensure your Learners are working safely and responsibly by monitoring and auditing against health and safety legislation and company policy as set out by the Health and Safety officer, this includes but is not limited to Hand arm vibration monitoring, effective use of LEV monitoring, and COSHH adherence monitoring
  • You will contribute to risk assessments in conjunction with the health and safety officer
  • You will conduct audits and spot checks to ensure that Personal Protective Equipment is being used correctly by any person working on behalf of the company and within your department
  • You must on a regular basis conduct sample inspections of plant and equipment within your department including but not limited to vibrating equipment, ladders, lifting gear, platforms, and cranes to ensure they are correctly tagged and are within the prescribed inspection and testing dates
  • Read and understand the Health and Safety Policy Statement whilst ensuring health and safety and protective equipment procedures are being followed by learners
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures securing a safe workplace
  • Assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents with the objective of introducing preventative measures. In proportion to job responsibilities
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Apprentice trained with a Level 3 qualification in fabrication and welding
  • The Fabrication & Welding instructor will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS check
  • Assessor and trainer qualifications desirable
  • Understanding of Company quality procedures and specific customer requirements
  • Ability to work effectively and use own initiative
  • Ability to lead and manage and train others to achieve desired results
  • Fully conversant with welding, fabrication and forming techniques
  • Excellent communication skills

Hours of Work:

Monday to Thursday 7:30am -4pm and Friday 7:30am -1pm

Trainee Press Brake Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operating press brake machine, ensuring it runs continuously to ensure maximum productivity
  • Producing orders on time and to the correct quality standard
  • Maneuvering of materials on to and off the press machines, either by crane or manually
  • Setting up the machine by reading engineering drawings, programming, tooling changes
  • Marking up of pressed parts and packing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience operating a press brake machine
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of different metals an advantage.
  • Competent in the use of all forms of measuring equipment including Vernier’s, rulers, angle measuring devices
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Able to work pro-actively and as part of a team to improve productivity and efficiency

3 Shift rotation: Mon – Fri 6am – 2pm/2pm – 10pm/10pm – 6am. 37.5 hours per week

Assembly Operative

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To work as part of a team to produce customers’ orders on time by strictly adhering to the production schedule
  • To follow work instructions and Company / Customer expectations in terms of documentation and quality requirements
  • To carry out and record the daily / weekly / monthly maintenance checks
  • To carry out and record the necessary safety checks
  • To ensure correct marking up of component parts
  • To ensure that the labelling system is adhered to
  • To ensure that your working area:
  • Is kept tidy and free from clutter at all times
  • That parts can flow to the next process with correct labelling procedures
  • That “Route Cards” are being followed and signed off after each operation
  • To adhere to all health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Able to consistently work to the highest of standard
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of sealants
  • Experience of working on finished painted equipment
  • Ability to work effectively and use own initiative

Hours of Work:

2 shift rotation- 37.5 hours a week

Welder/Fabricator – MIG Welder

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To review engineering drawings for parts to be welded
  • Perform MIG and JIG welding activities
  • Ensure compliance to Health and safety standards as directed by the Company
  • Any other duties that may fit into the remit of this role as and when required
  • This is not an exhaustive list and may be reviewed at any time to reflect current or changing practices
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Ability to read engineering drawings is desirable
  • Experience as a fabricator/welder within steel/metal
  • Ability to work effectively and use own initiative
  • Good communicator at all levels

Various Shift Patters;

Night Shifts Monday to Wednesday 8pm-6am and Thursday 8:30pm-6am or

Rotational Shifts of both shifts days (6am-2pm) and nights (8pm-6am and 8:30pm-6am)

Robot Welding Machine Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Efficient loading and unloading of robot welding equipment
  • Inspect finished parts to the required standard
  • Ensure the correct running and TPM of the machine by carrying out daily checks at the start of each shift
  • Reporting any issues to the line manager
  • Identifying correctly the marking up of parts of metal
  • House keeping of the section working in
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Experience in a similar machine role
  • Knowledge of machinery to be able to understand the procedures and health and safety regulations
  • Good communication skills

CNC Setter/Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Writing and proving programs for all machines as required
  • Set up jobs on machine center’s
  • Work with jigs and fixtures
  • Machine parts to customer specification, record contract documentation, complete time sheets correctly and maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts and use of the labelling system
  • Ensure parts are flowing to the next process with correct labelling procedures
  • Ensure that “Route Cards” are being followed and signed off following each operation
  • Work with Senior Manufacturing Engineer to determine feasibility of machining new products
  • Maintaining and controlling a current program register
  • Maintaining and controlling a current tool inventory, (all machines and cupboards)
  • Clean machines as appropriate
  • Continual check of coolant levels on machines
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledge of vertical machining center’s
  • Knowledge of Fanuc
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
  • Experience in a similar role/environment
  • CNC Miller Setter/Operator

3 shift rotation: Mon-Fri 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm / 10pm – 6am – 37.5 hrs per week
