Machine Shop Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a “Production Manager” you are responsible for your team’s performance measured against Health and Safety, Quality and Productivity targets.
  • You will create plans which allow your team to effectively produce customer’s orders ‘On time and In Full’, optimizing efficiency, while meeting quality expectations and Health and safety legislation
  • You will be responsible for maintaining a commercially viable department
  • You will ensure your Team fully understand their responsibilities to meet all key objectives
  • You will ensure effective monitoring of the operators is in place to record contract documentation, correctly record process times and maintain high standards of workmanship
  • You will Work with the team to ensure a robust shift handover system is followed
  • You will drive improvements in efficiencies throughout your department
  • You will ensure any maintenance faults and problems are reported, and fixes are expedited to completion
  • lifting gear, platforms, and cranes to ensure they are correctly tagged and are within the prescribed inspection and testing dates
  • You must ensure that housekeeping standards are maintained, contributing to a safe working environment
  • You will ensure that guards and screens provided for both manual and machine operations are being used effectively
  • You will Report any incident, accident and/or dangerous occurrence to the Health and Safety officer, and your line manager

Laser Team Leader

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring that your team members are trained in using the relevant machines and equipment, reading drawings and procedures
  • Assuming full ownership of your team, by creating and maintaining their commitment, loyalty and motivation
  • Organising and obtaining maximum results from your team, through briefing, encouragement, counselling and disciplinary action where necessary
  • Recognising training and development needs and liaising with the Production Manager regarding your teams further development
  • Ensuring all Safety / Rules / Standards are adhered to, ensuring correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times.

Ensuring the workshop and all its facilities:

  • Are kept tidy and free from clutter at all times
  • That operators are fulfilling their duties correctly and effectively at all times
  • That parts are flowing to the next process with correct labelling procedures
  • That “Schedule reports” are being followed and signed off each operation

Warehouse Operative

RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a frontline role encompassing product flow process ownership for the day to day operation of the Warehouse. Exceptional service delivery to customers both internal and external is the key operational requirement of this role.

CNC Team Leader

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Answering to the Senior Team leader
  • Performing management tasks when they are on leave
  • Working in a team leader position with other staff members on the shop floor that may require help/advice
  • Attend meetings for production / contract updates as required
  • Ensuring staff are following processes and procedures
  • Developing the department
  • Writing and proving CNC milling programs for all machines as required (Fanuc)
  • CADCAM experience preferably Edgecam & Inventor
  • Set up and develop new and existing products on machine centres
  • Design and create jigs and fixtures
  • Maintaining and controlling a current program register
  • Maintaining and controlling a current tool inventory
  • Look at tooling packages for new contracts
  • Continuous improvement of existing programs to improve quality/productivity
  • Training operators on the use of machinery and product knowledge and processes
  • Create SOPs, setup sheets and other documents to aid in production
  • Lease with the Schedulers to assist with getting the required demand through the department
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledge of vertical machining centres
  • Knowledge of Fanuc
  • Experience of offline programming (Edgecam preferably)
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
  • Experience in a similar role/environment
  • CNC Miller Setter/Operator/ Programmer background
  • Leadership experience of small teams

Production Assistant

  • Ensure laser machines are supplied with the correct materials in a timely manner to ensure production schedules are met

Trainee Contract Estimator

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Working from customer drawings to produce detailed quotations
  • Producing accurate and detailed manufacturing cost estimates generated from detailed client manufacturing drawings
  • Create full routing information including labour and material costing
  • Liaise with sub-contract suppliers as required
  • Input all information into the MRP estimation system in order to produce quotations
  • Monitoring enquiries within the company and speaking directly with customers and Suppliers
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Preferable for the applicant to have some experience working in a Manufacturing/Engineering environment.
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels
  • Strong attention to detail
  • An excellent level of IT ability including Word, Excel and Outlook

Press Brake Operator X 3

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operating press brake machine, ensuring it runs continuously to ensure maximum productivity
  • Producing orders on time and to the correct quality standard
  • Manoeuvring of materials on to and off the press machines, either by crane or manually
  • Setting up the machine by reading engineering drawings, programming, tooling changes
  • Marking up of pressed parts and packing
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Must have previous experience operating a press brake machine
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of different metals an advantage.
  • Competent in the use of all forms of measuring equipment including verniers, rulers, angle measuring devices
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Able to work pro-actively and as part of a team to improve productivity and efficiency

Hours of Work:

Shift rotation of 6am-2pm, 2pm – 10pm, 10pm – 6am. 37.5 hours per week

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensuring material is checked for size, thickness and grade, prior to cutting and to inform the Team Leader of any quality concerns regarding the material
  • Ensure ‘One Offs’ are completed at all times
  • Responsible for quality of components that have been cut on the machine and standard of fettling if required
  • Ensure customer orders are produced ‘On time and In Full time’ to required quality standard
  • Marking up of cut parts, cleaning and fettling parts
  • Assisting colleagues on shift, e.g., trainees, apprentices etc.
  • Ensure all Safety / Rules / Standards are adhered to, ensuring correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times
  • All control cards and nestings are filled in correctly, taking note of any special instructions
  • All machine and personal safety procedures to be followed at all times
  • Pass on all relevant information to the next shift, who are about to start work
  • Ensure the parts are routed correctly to the next part of the process in a timely manner
  • To adhere to all health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties

  • Relevant machine experience – plasma or trumpf experience preferred

Despatch Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Packing parts from the shelf on to pallets for customer orders
  • Counting, identifying, kitting, checking and shrink wrapping of goods
  • Booking in of stock into the logistics racking using the computer system
  • Loading and unloading of multiple lorries
  • Storage of products in appropriate warehousing, ensuring safe housekeeping standards
  • Unloading lorries for incoming goods
  • Counting, checking, and booking in of goods into computer system
  • Distributing of goods to various area of the factory

FLT Driver/Materials Handler

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Efficient unloading, handling and storage of internal material, e.g., steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc. to appropriate holding area
  • Ensuring correct storage inside with location of materials updated on computer
  • Sorting and feeding production with materials to production plans including assisting with maneuvering of materials on to and off the machines, either by crane or manually.
  • Housekeeping – ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the Departments and Profile Compound are maintained to a high standard at all times to comply with Health and Safety standards.
  • Maximise the uptime of the machines by delivering materials in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate stock representation of the press racks
  • Ensure a Caterpillar Tier 4 stock count is carried out daily

RESPONSIBILITIES

Welder/Fabricator – MIG Welder X 12

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To review engineering drawings for parts to be welded
  • Perform MIG and JIG welding activities
  • Ensure compliance to Health and safety standards as directed by the Company
  • Any other duties that may fit into the remit of this role as and when required

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Writing and proving programs for all machines as required
  • Set up jobs on machine center’s
  • Work with jigs and fixtures
  • Machine parts to customer specification, record contract documentation, complete time sheets correctly and maintain high standards of workmanship
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts and use of the labelling system
  • Ensure parts are flowing to the next process with correct labelling procedures
  • Ensure that “Route Cards” are being followed and signed off following each operation
  • Work with Senior Manufacturing Engineer to determine feasibility of machining new products
  • Maintaining and controlling a current program register
  • Maintaining and controlling a current tool inventory, (all machines and cupboards)
  • Clean machines as appropriate
  • Continual check of coolant levels on machines
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
  • Knowledge of vertical machining center’s
  • Knowledge of Fanuc
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
