High strength steel, also known as high yield or high tensile steels. We work closely with SSAB, Tata & Thyssen Krupp meaning that we have access to high stock levels and can offer fast turnaround times.

We work with materials with exceptional hardness up to 1,300 Nm/m2. We possess the specialist expertise, know – how and production methods that are required to process the materials professionally.
Good weldability means that preheating is not necessary under normal conditions. MTL has the capability to process large format plates on our large laser cutting and bending machinery, allowing for improved strength and formability with excellent surface quality. We can fully process high strength steel materials in our 388,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. It houses an extensive range of equipment, allowing us to offer four methods of cutting, press braking, CNC machining, fabrication and assembly.

High strength steel structures can be used to replace mild steel grades, allowing for the structure to be made lighter. This can potentially increase the payload of machines and equipment and reduce the fuel consumption whilst still retaining the structural integrity of the product.
