Main Purpose of Role

  • Assist delivering the Level 3 Plate Welder standard to the Apprentices.
  • Ensuring we have a Smooth onboarding process for all new apprentices
  • Instruct and train apprentices in several Welding & fabrication techniques
  • Assess Apprentices progress and provide constructive feedback to facilitate skill development and improvement
  • You will assist with monitoring and maintaining workshop standards with respect.
  • Maintain training facilities and equipment in line with Health & Safety policies to ensure optimal functionality and safety for our apprentices

What we are looking for

  • Strong & Competent Welder/Fabricator MIG & TIG
  • You will be required to pass an Enhanced DBS check, of which the company will pay.

About the role:
· To follow the Inspection Plan set by the Inspection Team Leader / SHEQ Manager
· Conduct effective inspections using the equipment available in a timely manner
· Create inspection reports, on all components and fabrications.
· Liaise with the Quality Engineers, where required
· Conduct monthly internal calibration of measurement equipment to the calibration schedule and maintain the calibration register and records

About you:
· Previous quality / inspection experience in a metal engineering manufacturing environment
· Strong knowledge using the following methods - Faro arm / Hexagon arm or other, Laser tracking inspection equipment

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

To ensure work is produced to the required quality standard and to the customers’

requirements in line with the production sheets (nestings and route cards). To ensure the laser machines run continuously at the correct speeds to ensure maximum productivity.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES:

    • · To ensure material is checked for size, thickness and grade, prior to cutting and to inform the Team Leader of any quality concerns regarding the material
    • · To ensure ‘one offs’ are always completed
    • · Responsible for quality of components that have been cut on the machine and standard of fettling if required
    • · To ensure customer orders are produced ‘on time and in full’ to the required quality standard
    • · Marking up of cut parts, cleaning and fettling parts
    • · Assisting colleagues on shift, e.g. trainees, apprentices etc.
    • · To ensure all control cards and nestings are filled in correctly, taking note of any special instructions
    • · To pass on all relevant information to the next shift
    • · To ensure parts are routed correctly to the next part of the process in a timely manner

Welder/Fabricator for the Defence sector

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
Due to a surge in Defence contracts, MTL Advanced are on a recruitment drive for a number of experienced and highly skilled Welders to join our defence operations. FLT Driver

ABOUT US

MTL Advanced is a Yorkshire-based steel engineering and manufacturing company operating from a 300,000 sq. ft. facility in Rotherham.

We have invested in an extensive range of technology and equipment and provide services to a range of OEM’s from leading industries including defence, security, construction, quarrying, recycling and rail.

Our inhouse capabilities include, large format Laser Cutting and Press Braking, CNC Precision Machining, Fabrication & Welding, Shot Blasting, Painting and final Assembly.

We are looking for an experienced FLT Operator to ensure the efficient receipt, storage and retrieval of all materials (raw and finished) whilst ensuring it is correctly marked up. This is an integral role within the business, supporting our production teams to ensure machines have sufficient material to run to maximum productivity. You will require an in date FLT ( Counterbalance ) Licence to keep all aspects of the materials flowing.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

-Efficient unloading, handling and storage of internal material; steel, stainless steel, aluminium to appropriate holding area

-Ensuring correct storage inside with location of materials updated on computer

-Sorting and feeding production with materials to production plans including assisting with maneuvering of materials on to and off the machines, either by crane or manually

-Maximise the uptime of the machines by delivering materials in a timely manner

-Maintain accurate stock representation of the press racks

-Follow the Laser Kitting Process

Warehouse Operator

Health, Safety & Environmental Manager

 

-The HSE manager will work with managers to determine safe working practices, ensuring that all departments have suitable and sufficient risk assessments for their operations and activities, offering expert knowledge and skills along with a hands on approach to implementation of improvements.

-They will generate and promote a positive health, safety & Environmental culture.

-They will ensure that all HS&E legislation is adhered to and policies and practices are adopted.

-They will review the policies, procedures and measures that we as a business follow, and work to minimise operational losses, occupational health problems, accidents and injuries.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND DUTIES:

-To ensure that the Company is adhering to all the relevant HS&E legislation

-To co-ordinate and assist the Management Team, where required

-To conduct regular Risk Assessments, PUWER assessments, COSHH Assessments and Internal audits

-Provide effective communications between all relevant departments to promote best HS&E practices

-To co-ordinate accident investigation, record and graph all accident data and to use the data to promote a no accident environment and culture

-To work closely with Production and Project Engineers to implement safety improvement opportunities whenever possible, utilizing the Management of Change Process

-Ensure that Safe Systems of Work are developed, Permits to Work are issued and Contractors to site are controlled as necessary

-Instigate regular Committee Meetings and ensure items discussed are agreed and actioned

-Ensure adequate First-Aid provisions are made and accident investigation/recording and reporting requirements are met

-Ensure Emergency Plans and Evacuations are developed and practiced

-Ensure the safety of visitors, contractors and members of the public

-General Health and Safety Administration

IN PROPORTION TO JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

-To ensure knowledge of and compliance with all HS&E Legislation

-Adherence to Company Policies and Procedures

-Promote effective communications

-Ensure knowledge of and compliance with all Company Policies, Procedures and Rules

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

-Previous HS&E knowledge

-Ability to work effectively, to achieve desired results
