How Our Apprentices Are Helping Light Up a Life for Rotherham Hospice This Christmas
Did you hear the big news? Following the huge success of our recent collaboration with Rotherham Hospice, we’re proud to be supporting them once again, this time through their Light up a Life campaign. This project is something truly meaningful to everyone here at MTL Advanced, and we’re honoured to play a small part in helping families remember their loved ones in a special way this Christmas.
This year, you can dedicate a stainless steel star in memory of someone dearly missed. Each star has been carefully crafted by our own apprentices, who have put real care into every stage of the process. Our apprentices have been working hard on the ornaments, shaping and finishing each one so it can become a cherished keepsake on someone’s Christmas tree.
When you make a donation of ten pounds or more to Rotherham Hospice, you’ll receive your engraved star ornament with space for a personal message of up to fifty characters. You’ll also receive a Christmas card from the hospice team, and your dedication will be included in the Rotherham Advertiser and their digital book of remembrance. You will then be invited to the Light up a Life service, a thoughtful and comforting event where families can come together to reflect and honour loved ones. Sign up to Light up a Life here.
Once your dedication is placed, the skilled team at Pryor Marking Technology will engrave your star. From there, it will be sent to you so you can either hang it on your tree at home or choose to have it displayed on the hospice tree, alongside the stars of other families. If you bring it to the hospice, your star will be returned to you after Christmas so it can become part of your yearly traditions. If you can’t visit in person but would still like your star placed on the hospice tree first, the team will happily take care of it.
This year’s ornaments are extra special for Rotherham Hospice. They are the first stainless steel stars they’ve offered, made locally by apprentices at MTL Advanced who are learning, creating and contributing to something that matters deeply within our community.
