Apprenticeship Open Evenings 2026

We are inviting aspiring engineers to attend one of two Apprenticeship Open Evenings at our Rotherham facility next month, giving potential candidates a unique opportunity to explore a future career in engineering.

With 20 new apprenticeship vacancies available for a September 2026 start, these events are designed to provide valuable insight into our award-winning apprenticeship programme and in-house Training Academy.

The open evenings will take place on Monday 9th February 2026 and Wednesday 11th February 2026, running from 4pm to 6pm at MTL Advanced, Grange Lane, Rotherham S60 5AE. Attendees will enjoy an exclusive tour of the facility and training academy, meet current apprentices, and speak directly with experienced staff about the wide range of opportunities available.

MTL Advanced offers four-year apprenticeship programmes across disciplines including Welding and Fabrication, CNC Machining, Maintenance Engineering, Laser and Press Brake Operations, Quality, and Business Administration. The Rotherham academy works in conjunction with WEC Group’s established Training Academy in Darwen, Lancashire, ensuring apprentices benefit from shared expertise, resources, and best practice.

Since opening in 2015, the Training Academy has played a vital role in developing skilled engineers for the future. Apprentices are trained by highly experienced professionals, including a CSWIP certified Welder Instructor and Examiner, ensuring training meets the highest international standards. With state-of-the-art facilities, structured mentoring, and a strong focus on practical skills, MTL Advanced is committed to addressing the industry skills gap while supporting long-term career development.

Places are limited to just 20 people every 30 minutes, so early booking is essential.
