We hosted our annual Apprentice of the Year Awards on Friday 16th October 2026, bringing everyone together to celebrate the hard work, skills and achievements of our apprentices at MTL Advanced in Rotherham. The evening welcomed apprentices, their families, training providers, MTL colleagues and guests from the local community to recognise the next generation of skilled engineers.
Held every autumn, our Apprentice Awards are a highlight of the year, giving us the opportunity to recognise the dedication, progress and achievements of our apprentices over the past twelve months. It’s always fantastic to see how much they develop during their time with us, building their skills, confidence and experience as they take the next steps in their careers.
Throughout the evening, we presented awards across a range of categories, recognising the commitment, enthusiasm and determination our apprentices bring to their roles every day. We were also proud to celebrate our graduating apprentices as they received their official apprenticeship completion certificates, marking an important milestone in their careers.
We were delighted to welcome Councillor Haroon Rashid, Mayor of Rotherham for 2026–2027, who joined us for the occasion. His attendance helped make the evening even more special as we celebrated the achievements of our apprentices and the importance of developing future engineering talent.
