Armour Plate
Armour Plate has traditionally been used in military and civilian applications. Armour steel can be used for both blast and ballistic protection due to its excellent properties. Its track record in the defence and security sector is due to its high hardness and strength.
MTL has developed some unique capabilities to machine and cold form ultra-high hard armoured steels (up to 700 HB) and our capability is being recognised by our customers, who are improving their vehicle design and protection level by using this service.
Our knowledge in armour plate allows us to advise our customers, and recommend different armour solutions to suit different applications. Working alongside our in-house survivability expert, we can offer help to achieve particular ballistic requirements and create the best armour solution. Structural strength can be increased, and costs can be lowered through utilising the manufacturing process through our Design for Manufacture service.
We have a vast range of armour plate ranging from 300HB to 700HB, in thicknesses starting from 2.5mm to 80mm. Material is readily available for us to process, from armour plate cutting to armour plate fabrication. Our Ballistic plates tested to meet all the latest NATO standards such as:
- STANAG 4569: 1,2 &
- EN 1522: B4, B5, B6 &
