MTL Advanced Ltd is an official SSAB Strenx 1100 processor/stockholder, providing high quality manufacturing services throughout the UK. We have the capacity to complete all laser/waterjet/plasma cutting, bending & folding, fabricating and machining Strenx 1100 requirements at our 33,000 sq. ft. facility, which is ideally located in Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
With various industry quality accreditations and many years’ experience working with this material, we are able to supply and manufacture S 1100 plates in different shapes, sizes and thicknesses to satisfy the needs of our customers.
Due to our extensive in-house manufacturing capabilities, we can also machine, press parts up to 7.2m length, laser cut and waterjet cut S 1100 to the UK’s highest standards.
What is Strenx 1100?
S 1100 is a hot-rolled structural steel made for cold forming and has good cutting performance ideal for lifting applications. Despite its strength, the material is surprisingly easy to weld and bend, which we offer in-house.

Strenx 1100 is a group of structural steel grades with a minimum yield strength of 1100 MPa, making it an ideal material for advanced lifting devices. This high strength steel also has a high impact toughness which provides for good resistance to fractures, making it the ideal material choice for load-bearing structures. S 1100 can also be welded to other types of weldable steels using any conventional method of welding.
