MTL Advanced Strengthen their Profiling Capabilities with Two additional LVD Taurus Large Format Fibre Lasers
MTL Advanced has further expanded its market-leading profiling capacity with the installation of two new state-of-the-art LVD Taurus XXL fibre lasers, reinforcing its position as one of the UK’s largest and most advanced steel profiling specialists.
The investment in the Taurus 16 XXL 20 and Taurus 16 XXL 12 fibre lasers marks a significant milestone in MTL’s ongoing growth strategy, enabling the company to support increasing demand across all market sectors.
The new large-format systems are capable of processing sheet sizes up to 16 metres in length and 3.2 metres in width, with advanced bevel cutting capability of up to 50 degrees. With cutting powers of 20kW and 12kW respectively, the machines deliver outstanding speed, precision, and flexibility across a wide range of materials up to 45mm thick, including mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium, and high-strength grades such as Hardox™, Strenx™ and Armox™
This latest investment significantly increases MTL’s capacity for large-scale and complex fabrications, enhancing turnaround times while maintaining the outstanding on-time delivery performance for which the company is renowned. The bevel cutting heads also offer customers added value by reducing weld preparation times and ensuring superior edge quality across intricate profiles.
The two new Taurus lasers form part of MTL Advanced’s wider programme of strategic investment, with over £15m already committed in the past 12 months to support the company’s long-term growth and continued delivery of world-class manufacturing solutions.
