Welcoming Our New Apprentices to MTL Advanced

Building future talent through hands-on training and expert guidance

We’re delighted to welcome a new group of apprentices to MTL Advanced as they begin their training at the MTL Apprentice Training Academy.

Their journey will see them rotate through different areas of our business, building a broad set of skills and gaining real-world experience along the way. Guided by highly qualified trainers, including CSWIP-certified Instructors, they’ll benefit from expert tuition while learning what it takes to succeed in engineering.

Supporting apprenticeships is a key part of our commitment to developing future talent, and we are excited to watch their progress over the coming years.

Our Training Academy first opened its doors in 2015 to provide local individuals with an opportunity to gain the skills needed to carve out a successful career in engineering. Based in Rotherham, the academy runs in conjunction with WEC Group’s Training Academy in Blackburn, Lancashire.

We offer a wide range of four-year engineering apprenticeship courses, including Welding & Fabrication, Laser & Press Brake Operations, Quality, CNC Machining, and Business Administration, to name just a few.

Our Academy team includes CSWIP-certified Welder Instructors, who ensure our apprentices are trained to the highest international standards. At MTL Advanced, we remain committed to supporting the future of engineering by offering outstanding apprenticeship opportunities.

Our apprenticeship programme plays a vital role in addressing the skills gap within the manufacturing and engineering sectors, ensuring the continued development of specialist skills that are so important to the industry. By investing in the next generation of engineers, fabricators, and welders, we’re helping to secure a skilled workforce for the future.
