Roller & Euromac Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Using the relevant machines to produce customers’ orders on time and to the correct quality standard
  • Material handling – manoeuvring of materials on to and off the machines, either by crane or manually
  • Reading Engineering drawings
  • Housekeeping – ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the Department is maintained to a high standard at all times
  • Completing all paperwork to a high standard
  • Training of others

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Previous roller experience essential
  • Ability to read, understand and follow engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of working with different grades of metal
  • Competent in all forms of measuring equipment i.e. Vernier, rulers, angle measuring devices

Production Administrator (6 Months Maternity Cover)

Responsibilities:

  • Liaising with Production Team Leaders and shop floor staff to collate production information
  • Inputting production book information onto job costing system
  • Entering all collated information into spreadsheets to prepare reports and production statistics
  • Filing, photocopying, scanning and any other general administration tasks
  • Answering and dealing with incoming calls
  • Providing administration support to other divisions within the group as required
  • To adhere to all health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Computer Literate
  • Previous experience within an administration support role
  • Fully competent in Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel with knowledge of formulas
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work well on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and with a high level of attention to detail

Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:

  • Performing inspection of finished assemblies
  • Take Ownership of Defence and Rail Quality Performance
  • Review of ISIR and FAIR reports prior to submission
  • First point of contact for internal quality concerns
  • Investigate Non-conformances, both internal and external and implement CAPA measures
  • Compilation and submission of PPAP documents as requested by customers
  • Report internal process performance data weekly (CCIR Action Log)
  • Provide inspection support as required (Absence/ Workload)
  • Review and approval of concessions prior to submission to customers
  • Conduct QHSE management audits
  • Conduct and lead 8D investigation reports issued by QHSEL Manager
  • Development of process controls for specific processes
  • Generating Supplier Corrective Action Reports (SCAR’s) follow up to ensure effective CAPA are implemented

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

Essential:

  • Minimum HND/equivalent in a related Engineering of Quality related discipline
  • 3 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
  • Performing internal audits Certification (ISO9001/ TS16949/ AS9100)
  • Eye for detail
  • Core Tools (AIAG) and RCA Qualification/Experience

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Defence and/or Rail requirements
  • Welding Inspection Qualification

Robot Programmer

Responsibilities:

  • Program and set up robotic welders
  • Experience in both Prototype, Low and high-Volume Production robotic welding
  • Experience working with carbon, stainless and aluminum steels
  • Experience of heavy fabrications 500kg to 4T
  • Ability to work from drawings
  • Troubleshooting robotic welding processes
  • Train and assist operators in robotic welding
  • Attend kick off meetings
  • Robot development and offline programming
  • Support continuous improvement initiative
  • To adhere to all health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • 5+ years’ experience as a Robot Welding Programmer
  • Solid background and experience in Fanuc robotics programming and welding systems
  • General plant maintenance
  • Good computer skills, primarily MS Excel
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with manufacturing operations and customers
  • Flexible and diligent attitude

Paint Inspector

Responsibilities:

  • Executes the specific inspections on materials, equipment and activities on site
  • Issues the relevant Quality Records and, when necessary, write and send to Quality Control Supervisor non-conformances reports
  • Control of storage and certification of consumables
  • Performs qualifications of coating processes
  • Checks surface preparation
  • Checks and records atmospheric conditions prior to starting of painting operations
  • Carries out wet and dry film thickness checks
  • Monitors observations of the correct coding cycles
  • Verifies the correct colour-coding and painting
  • Performs visuals inspections
  • Performs adhesion testing
  • Performs visual checks after blasting
  • To adhere to all health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Minimum NACE 1 or ICORR 1 or equivalent Qualification
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience “Hands On” Blasting and Painting experience
  • Experience of conventional/HVLP/Air Assisted/ Airless spray systems (desirable)

Paint Shop Labourer

Responsibilities:

  • De-grease items before shot blasting procedure
  • Preparing parts ready for painting
  • Mixing Paint
  • Cleaning paint guns
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Adherence to COSHH
  • Any other ad hoc duties as may be required within the production environment
  • To adhere to all health and safety

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence – Counterbalance – Side loader
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
  • Overhead crane/slinging & lifting skills
  • Experience in a similar role/environment

Production Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring material is checked for size, thickness and grade, prior to cutting and to inform the operator of any quality concerns regarding the material
  • Ensure laser machines are supplied with the correct materials in a timely manner to ensure production schedules are met
  • Ensure ‘One offs’ are completed at all times
  • Ensure customer orders on produced ‘On Time and In Full’ time to required quality standard
  • Marking up of cut parts, cleaning etc
  • Ensure all Safety/Rules/Standards are adhered to, ensuring correct Personal Protective Equipment is worn at all times
  • All machine and personal safety procedures to be followed at all times
  • Pass on all relevant information to the next shift, who are about to start work
  • Ensure the parts are routed correctly to the next part of the process in a timely manner
  • To adhere to all health and safety
  • Any other ad hoc duties

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Relevant machine experience
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Legislation and additional MTL requirements
  • Understanding of Company quality procedures and specific customer requirements
  • Ability to work effectively and use own initiative

Laser Operator

Your role will be to ensure that the work is produced to the required quality standard and to the customers’ requirements in line with the production sheets (nesting & route cards). To make sure the Laser machines run continuously at the correct speeds to ensure maximum productivity. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring material is checked for size, thickness and grade prior to cutting
  • Ensuring “One offs” are completed at all times, take responsibility for quality of components that have been cut
  • Ensuring orders are produced “on time and in full” time to required quality standard
  • Marking up of cut pasrts, cleaning and fettling parts

  • Slinging and lifting crane experience is essential
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of different metals an advantage
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Able to work pro-actively and as part of a team to improve productivity and efficiency

General Operative

Responsibilities:

  • Efficient unloading, handling and storage of internal material, e.g. steel, stainless steel, aluminium etc. to appropriate holding area
  • Ensuring correct storage inside with location of materials updated on computer
  • Sorting and feeding production with materials to production plans including assisting with maneuvering of materials on to and off the machines, either by crane or manually
  • Housekeeping – ensuring the cleanliness and tidiness of the Departments and Profile Compound are maintained to a high standard at all times to comply with Health and Safety standards
  • Maximise the uptime of the machines by delivering materials in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate stock representation of the press racks
  • Ensure a Caterpillar Tier 4 stock count is carried out daily

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Fork Lift Truck Licence – Counterbalance – Side loader
  • Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships
  • Overhead crane/slinging & lifting skills
  • Experience in a similar role/environment

Platers/Welders

Responsibilities:

  • To review engineering drawings for parts to be fabricated/welded
  • Perform welding/plating activities
  • Ensure tolerances and parameters are met to satisfy quality and output
  • Ensure production timings are met/exceeded
  • Work as part of a team to produce orders on time and within customer expectation/quality requirements
  • Carry out and record daily/weekly/monthly maintenance and safety checks
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts

Knowledge, skills & experience required: 

  • Welding and fabrication experience and qualifications
  • Must be coded to BS EN ISO9606-1 fillet and butt weld standard
  • Experienced in MIG and TIG welding with the ability to read engineering drawings
  • Ability to work effectively and use own inititative
  • Good communication at all levels

Pre Delivery Inspector

Responsibilities:

  • Pre delivery inspection of piece parts for Caterpillar, as per customer standard
  • Pre delivery inspection of piece parts for Dennis Eagle, as per customer standard
  • Work to a schedule to meet weekly delivery targets
  • Assist the Quality Assurance inspectors with dimensional inspection work as and when required
  • Attend root cause analysis meeting as and when required

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • Knowledge of using basic measuring equipment (Vernier’s, Thread Gauges, Tapes and Rulers)
  • Computer Literate
  • Basic understanding of Quality systems
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Lifting /Slinging /magnet experience
  • Crane experience
  • Pedestrian stacker truck license

Press Brake Operator

Responsibilities:

  • Operating press brake machine, ensuring it runs continuously to ensure maximum productivity
  • Producing orders on time and to the correct quality standard
  • Manoeuvring of materials on to and off the press machines, either by crane or manually
  • Setting up the machine by reading engineering drawings, programming, tooling changes
  • Marking up of pressed parts and packing

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • Must have previous experience operating a press brake machine
  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of different metals an advantage
  • Competent in the use of all forms of measuring equipment including verniers, rulers, angle measuring devices
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Able to work pro-actively and as part of a team to improve productivity and efficiency

Maintenance Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Safely maintaining all equipment in a modern, fast paced heavy manufacturing environment
  • Assisting improvement projects to further increase output through better efficiencies
  • Electrical/Mechanical and also fitting work
  • Working with Electro Pneumatic and Hydraulic systems
  • Fault diagnosis and repair
  • To adhere to all health and safety

  • Electrically competent including 3 phase
  • In house training for specific equipment
  • To assist maintenance manager in daily duties

Estimator

Responsibilities:

  • Working from Customer drawings to produce detailed quotations
  • Producing accurate and detailed manufacturing cost estimates generated from detailed client manufacturing drawings
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing delivery lead times and the arrangement of sub contract support
  • Create full routing information including labour and material costing
  • Liaise with sub-contract suppliers as required
  • Input all information in to the computer system in order to produce full quotations to the sales department
  • Monitoring enquiries within the company and speaking direct with customers and end users
  • Liaising with internal departments and customers to resolve queries and expedite progress

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

  • Ability to read and interpret customer engineering drawings
  • Previous experience within a similar role, ideally within laser cutting, press braking and fabrication would be advantageous but not essential
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with both suppliers and customers
  • Fully computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up Brake Presses to produce customer specific products
  • Marking up parts and packing in line with customer specification
  • Robot programming
  • Reading engineering drawings / tool changes etc

Knowledge, skills & experience required: 

  • Previous Press Brake experience is essential
  • Ability to read, understand and follow 1st and 3rd angle projection drawings is essential
  • Knowledge of Cybelec Software programming (advantageous)
  • Competent at using all forms of measuring equipment, i.e. Vernier, rulers, angle measuring devices
  • Knowledge of working with different grades of  metal

CNC Machinists

Key Objectives & Duties:

  • Operating machines to produce orders on time and to the correct quality standard
  • Ensure correct marking up of component parts and use of the labelling system
  • Work with Senior Manufacturing Engineer to determine feasibility of machining new products
  • Writing and providing programmes for all machines as required
  • Maintaining and control a current programmer register and tool inventory
  • Working with jigs and fixtures
  • Cleaning and maintaining machines as required

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Must have previous experience setting and operating vertical machining centres using Fanuc Controls
  • Slinging and lifting crane experience is essential
  • Able to set and maintain a high standard of workmanship
  • Able to work pro-actively and as part of a team to improve productivity and efficiency

Industrial Paint Sprayer

Key Objectives & Duties:

  • Prepare work to extremely high standards
  • Stripping, fitting and re-building parts where necessary
  • Work to specific production schedules

  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • Experience of using 2 pack paint is essential
  • Experience of conventional / pressure pot spray systems is essential
  • Experience of Automotive / Rail / Aircraft / Fine Finishing (desirable)
  • Knowledge of spray bake booth operations and general maintenance (desirable)
  • Previous experience of using an airless spray equipment (desirable)
  • Be fully conversant in both written and verbal English
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings and masking instructions

Shot Blast Operator

Key Objectives & Duties:

  • Work to specific production schedules
  • Complete all administrative procedures relating to paint area
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment
  • Adherence to COSHH
  • Maintain own equipment, change grit valve, check and change grit-hose, dead man’s handle and nozzles etc.

Knowledge & skills required: 

  • At least 1 year’s current experience as a shot blaster
  • Knowledge of blasting grades (Swedish standards etc)
  • Knowledge of recovery blast booth operations / general maintenance (desirable)
  • Lifting and Slinging safe working knowledge / certificate (desirable)
  • Valid Fork Lift Truck License (desirable)
