MTL Advanced enjoys continued success in winning yet another large order, this time in the shape of 700 Tonnes of Hardox.

The plates will be delivered to the customer cut and pressed using our state-of-the-art equipment including our newly installed 6m x 2.5m Trumpf Laser 8000 cutting machine with automated handling system, the largest installation of its kind. The handling system provides increased efficiency and exceptional quality.

All processing will take place in our 28,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. Our capabilities include four types of cutting (laser, plasma, waterjet & gas), press braking, CNC machining, welding, assembly, shot blasting and painting.

MTL has worked closely with the customer on this project turning around high volumes of material efficiently to ensure that all work adheres to a tight delivery schedule. The project will be delivered over a 4 month period. Working together, we have optimised the design of the project through our Design for Manufacture (DFM) service, resulting in cost savings for our customer.

MTL stocks large amounts of material in a wide range of grades and thicknesses and is the largest Hardox Wearparts centre in the UK. We have vast knowledge and experience of processing Hardox and other high strength steels such as Strenx. Strategic relationships with material suppliers mean that MTL can ensure that customers get the best price possible.
