MTL Advanced has recently been awarded a multi-million pound contract by an OEM to supply armour kits for a large overseas vehicle programme.

The armoured kits will involve manufacturing complex parts from both Armox 500T and Armox 600T material which require cutting, pressing, fabrication, machining and painting.

Working closely with our customer the project award shows the continued growth of MTL Advanced within the global Defence and Security market illustrating our competitiveness and ability to deliver complicated and tight tolerance parts to a dedicated schedule.

We are a supplier to over 20 countries worldwide manufacturing various parts and fabrications for all types of applications. We utilise both steel and aluminium armours including the likes of Armox 600T and Armox Advanced materials.

MTL has one of the largest contract manufacturing plants in the UK. With 28,000 sq.m the facility boasts state of the art equipment and carry one of the largest stocks of armour material in Europe. We are able to react very quickly to meet our customer’s requirements.

The MTL business has invested in excess of £8m over the last 2 years to place it at the forefront of contract manufacturing in the UK. Based on a secure 13 hectare site with a wide range of manual and robotic machinery, we are ideally placed to manage any complex fabrication contracts. Our site boasts the largest laser cutting machine with automated handling system in the UK, robotic pressing and welding capabilities, extensive CNC machining facilities and state of the art shot blast and paint plants. This is further supported with clean areas for carrying out assembly work. MTL has extensive capability and capacity to complete one off and batch fabrications with accreditations to undertake the most complex work in the rail, power generation, construction, and defence sectors.
